At Kunes, the communities where we live and work are family. That is why our team was proud to take part in Over the Edge 2026, the signature fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Mississippi Valley. We leaned back, stepped off, and rappelled for a cause we believe in with our whole hearts: the difference a caring mentor makes in a young person's life.
About Over the Edge
Over the Edge asks brave volunteers to rappel 11 stories, roughly 140 feet, down the side of the historic Hotel Blackhawk in downtown Davenport. It has grown into the organization's largest fundraiser, and every dollar raised goes toward matching local kids with mentors who show up, listen, and stick around.
Why We Took the Leap
Behind the adrenaline is a simple, lasting idea. When a child is matched with a "Big," they gain someone in their corner. Someone who believes in them, celebrates their wins, and stays through the hard days. Those one-to-one relationships build confidence, open doors, and can change the direction of a young life. That is the reason our team went over the edge, and it is the reason we are asking for your help today.
